The seventh CeBIT Asia is being held from 27th to 30th October 2008 in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). It is one of the leading events for all aspects of information technology and telecommunications (ICT).

Analysts forecast that China will soon become the world's third largest ICT market and, in the long term, experts see a place for China at the very top of the global ICT sector.

CeBIT Asia is the key showcase for the sector in this growth market. The event offers extensive coverage of products and services in the IT and telecommunications field, highlighting solutions for both trade and end users.

In 2006, CeBIT Asia welcomed over 450 exhibitors to an exhibition area of around 35,000 square meters. The forecast for 2007 looks similarly positive, especially in view of predicted growth rates of over 30% for the Chinese software and IT sector.

With support from the Chinese government, market leaders in the Asian ICT sector will once again be joined at CeBIT Asia by numerous international companies from all over the world. An exhibition area of around 23,000 square meters is expected to play host to over 400 exhibitors from 18 different countries, including leading companies such as Pioneer, Sharp, BenQ, and LG.
